I'm worried the media is inadvertantly miseducating

In the past few weeks I have seen a couple news reports of people using allegedly justifiable deadly force and not being arrested for it. One is the very high profile church shooting in Texas (http://ift.tt/2AeTGv6) and another was a man eating in a restaurant, also in Texas (http://ift.tt/2j4GWEj). In both of these instances, according to the law, the people "defending" themselves using deadly force should have been arrested.Time and time again in my LTC class and in all 6 of my pistol 1 & 2, carbine 1 & 2, low light force on force and active shooter force on force it has been explained by the instructors (current/former law enforcement) that if you get involved in a shooting you will be arrested. You will be "headed downtown" and you will be in court with mounting legal fees.I am worried that with these recent reports people will not be aware of the often severe consequences that will come about if you draw and fire your weapon. Even if you are justified in doing so. Or, are there often not the legal consequences I have been informed of time and time again?Thoughts? via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2ySLTlF
