...because you get to carry. I had a permit when I lived in Maine, Washington & Oregon. But now that I am back in the Garden State - that's all over for me. Even with all the Republican governors that we've had - NJ has the strictest gun laws on the books.Now if I travel 45 minutes to the west (in PA) all is well. You can go in, buy a gun, get a concealed carry permit, etc. So where I live, only the criminals get to carry. Law abiding citizens with no record whatsoever (like myself) gets punished.
