Hi /r/ccw,It's been beaten to death that training is necessary if you're going to carry regularly. I believe you. But how to best go about it? Here are my criteria:Should be relatively cost- and time-effective. I'm willing to invest $ and time, but only on whatever will ACTUALLY make me more proficient in self-defense with a firearm. I don't care about super fast fancy sharpshooting unless there are actually real-world applications.Training should actually use the carry setup I use (Stealthgear strong-side IWB, G19 with minimal modifications)Should be somewhat on a regular interval rather than a week-long boot camp that I have to fly to.So, what's the best route? USPSA? IDPA? Some private instructor? Some group instructor running his own classes? Also, how often do you partake in formal training? via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2rAuZG4
