Home defense and flashlights: On your gun, in your hand, *or* on your head?

I often see the argument made between using a gun mounted flashlight and a handheld flashlight. The main argument against gun mounted lights is that you don't want to point your gun at everything just so you can see it, you should use the light to ID the target and if it is a threat, then you point your gun. The main argument against handheld flashlights is that it occupies your offhand and hinders your ability to stabilize your gun if you do need to aim and potentially shoot. What does everyone think about headlamps, though? I use one for camping. It allows you to illuminate everything you look at and leaves both hands open to manipulate your weapon. Can anyone think of any disadvantages to using a headlamp for a home defense situation? Any additional advantages not mentioned? via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2eetWt1
