What guns should I try on for size?

Looking to finally make my transition from fudd to a ccw. I've got a 10/22 and a 500 12ga that I use for hunting/trap/range fun. So now I'm looking to get some sort of handgun (probably semi-auto pistol) for ccw. What I've shot is as follows:Walther P99 9mm full size: Loved the DA/SA (well, the striker form of it, but sitll) different trigger pulls wasn't natural or anything. Trigger was also buttery smooth and crisp. Size and weight and all that felt right in my hand. I shot great with it. If I were to buy a full size it'd definitely be a contender.S&W M&P9: Hated the thumb safety. Just stupid. (I like it on my long guns since they're slung over my shoulder while I am going through the woods, but I see no reason for one on a gun that'll live in a holster) Trigger felt like 2 steel bars being rubbed together with sand between them. All of my shots at 7 yards were like 4" low and left. I think it was partially the gun (the most experienced shooter had trouble hitting dead on with it) but also that I just didn't like it in my hand. Felt like a cheap toy, really.S&W Shield 40: I don't remember much about my feelings on this aside from the recoil really snapping. Hit pretty well, not overly fond of the gun but I was able to shoot decently with it.Taurus Baretta knock off: Meh. Trigger felt consistently heavy and sluggish, weight too heavily on the barrel end, definitely felt like it was designed to be fired by army guys wearing thick gloves that were in better shape than me.So that all said, I think I can lay the groundwork of what I want as meeting the following:9mm or .380ACP (later mentioned only because of size restrictions) .40 shoots like poop for no ballistic benefit. .45 would be cool if I had a 1911 but that's it.DA/SA with a decocker. I like the idea of a hammer that I could thumb while I holster as a secondary way to ensure I'm not catching the trigger on anything. This part I'm probably the most flexible on though. No safety is a must though.Subcompact size. Since its my first, I'd like something I can carry in the summer too. I'll maybe/probably buy more in the future so I can get something larger for when I can more conceal itThat all listed, here is what I've got so far along with my scatterbrained thoughts on them:Ruger LCP: mentioned because low cost, compact size and rather popular. I have no intention of pocket carry (my pockets are always full as is), but the compactness seems like it'd be easy to conceal. Whats the consensus on the LCP/Custom/LC9? Downsides I see are no decocker and the LCP/custom would kick a good bit.Bersa thunder .380 (or the cc): A bit larger, but also low cost and seems to be pretty popular.Sig P239: Expensive as shit, probably too large compared to others (looking at this, i figure if I wanted a sig the P229 could be a compact for not-summer carry) But I thought I should have it on the list as sig is, well, sigBersa thunder ultra compact 9mm: A bit larger than the .380 but the benefit of 9mm and more mag capacityCZ 2075: CZ seems be to be loved, but I don't see this mentioned nearly as much as the ruger and bersa?P99c: Should be self explanatory. What else should I be looking at? What is the cutoff between the ultra compact and the smaller guns? I had a leaning to the thunder .380 as it was smaller than most of the subcompacts, but compared to the LCP, what's jumping up to a subcompact from that gun? via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/25WFIMe
