Sorry for venting to you all, but I know some here will understand my plight.I swear since I've gotten my CCW permit people have been pressuring me to drink more than an after school special from the 90s. What makes it worse it's my own family!Seems like I can't go to any event with family without them trying to disarm me, or get me to break the law by imbibing liquor while armed. Granted I'm in Wisconsin so it is hard to go anywhere without alcohol being within stumbling distance."You and [ the wife ] should come out to listen to this band. You don't have to drink or anything." Then I get to the bar where said band is playing (bars are pretty much the only places to see a band here) to only receive a barrage of reasons to drink. The reasons to drink include that people aren't fun unless they're loosened up, they charge twice as much once the band starts, there is no reason to carry "that thing" all the time, or my favorite - you can just lock it up in your car and get free taxi vouchers from the bar to take you home at the end of the night. So even though I had everyone rolling with laughter with some stories I was telling I'm no fun. Guess I need to be drunk and acting the fool, huh? I guess it would be more frugal to get ***tfaced even before the band started so that's a good investment right there. Guess I don't need to be on the defense in a dive bar between the hours of 10 pm and 3 am because those are the hours when everyone in the world has agreed that it's fluffy kitty snuggle time so I must just be paranoid. Well and let's not forget I should do all that while casually leaving a weapon registered to everything I have and will do if it falls into the wrong hands behind a little glass in my obviously impregnable fortress of a rusting Ford fiesta in a different city because hey - free vouchers! That was before the snow hit last season. You'd think it would've died down by now, but neigh it has not. This last weekend for example I went for a visit and out comes the champagne because. That's it. Just because. Because I showed up I'm sure."Oh just try a sip. It's so good!"Apparently having a B.A.C. of 0 is a compulsory reason to drink. Mind you the only time I don't have my firearm is at work (anti-2A employer, but it pays well in the meantime while I work myself out of debt). So finally this last weekend I firmly, and loudly asked why everyone keeps trying to get me to drink and stated angrily that it's completely against my religion. Of course they called bullshit with "but you don't have a religion." You're right, but if I did would you still find every reason to try and get me to go against my beliefs?(Sidenote - I have my own faith choices, but it's easier for them to think I'm some anti-religion heretic believe it or not.)Family is important to me as I'm sure it is to you all too so it really hurts my heart that they continue these behaviors.Anyone else face trials like this from close friends, or family?Edited because auto correct on mobile devices is awesome :-\ via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/21k0yOX
