Hey guys, to start, I live in Georgia if that helps in terms of legal ramifications. I live in what's generally considered a pretty good part of Atlanta, but even so, within the past year or so, we've had multiple burglaries, attempts to break into cars in the parking garage, theft, and apparently 1, possibly 2, attempted armed robberies at my apartment complex as of recently. Its to the point where I've called the security guard before when I've seen clearly suspicious people hiding behind cars in the parking garage (before I had my CCW, not that I would have done anything differently had I had it then). At this point in living at this place, and I really do still feel that its comparatively safe compared to all other places around, I ALWAYS have my CCW on before going out into the parking garage or outside at night. My question is, if I were to walk out into the parking garage and see someone keying my car or attempting to burglarize it, or someone else's car for that matter, would I be terribly unjustified to try and enforce a citizen's arrest by drawing on the person and telling them to lay down on the ground? I'm positive that in this scenario if I yelled something at the person like "what the hell are you doing to my car!" they'd take off running down the stairs and out of the garage and they'd likely never be caught..... Just curious... I drive a very very clean and modified muscle car, and in college (different also-modified muscle car at the time) someone keyed my car and left a note about how loud and annoying the car was despite me only ever driving it within the hours of noon-9pm. I'd never been more furious in my entire life and vowed to never let someone screw up my car again... I'm now overly paranoid that someone will destroy my beautiful car, and am concerned that if I were in that situation again, I would instinctively rage-draw, not to shoot, but to ensure they didn't run and evade justice... Oh man I get angry even just typing this, and I'm almost always a calm and level-headed person. via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/1TSTx8U
