When driving and carrying AIWB, some people tuck the lap portion of the seat-belt behind the grip (behind your shirt) so that in a collision, the gun won't be mashed into one's pelvis (additionally, so that one's draw will be more straightforward). One downside is that when unbuckled, the seat-belt naturally swings out and hooks around the grip. This requires lifting one's shirt slightly (exposing the gun), grabbing the lap portion of the seat-belt, and guiding it behind the grip so it may retract. If an officer was present and requests that such a person exits their vehicle, during unbuckling they would necessarily be making a motion that is strikingly similar to drawing. This seems inadvisable, given the typical context of the phrase "he appeared to be reaching for a gun."Unbuckling before the officer approaches the vehicle is pretty universally discouraged, possibly resulting in one receiving a ticket for not wearing a seat-belt, or increasing the chance of injury from a collision during the stop. via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/22WcPdK
