Should I have said something?

shopping today in Walmart with my wife and son. We run into a guy who is with his son and he says something about how well behaved our son is. We start chatting. When he turns to walk the other way I notice he has his piece in the 8 o'clock position behind his back and it is fully exposed.I know AZ is an open carry state so I wonder for a moment if he is open carrying - but my second thought is that it would be odd to be open carrying when someone could come up behind you and pull the piece.Should I have said something to him?
