New Rules are in Effect - 30k State of the Union


Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen,It has been precisely two weeks since the 30k Subscribers State of the Union was posted, and there is a general consensus on the proposed rulings and changes. We wish to thank everyone who gave feedback on the items that were discussed. Though the changes and new rulings will go into effect immediately, /r/CCW will maintain the practice of listening to on-going input from subscribers and the moderation team welcomes discussion at all times.Proposed change to Rule 1:1. Content Not Applicable: Any post that does not directly related to self-defense.New Rule 1:1. Content Not Applicable: Any post that does not relate to self-defense.Summary of changes: Content will be allowed if it relates to a commonly carried pistol or relates to the performance of said pistol. Proposed change to Rule 2:2. Spam: (a) Any posting, including self-posts, links, and comments, posted to this subreddit for the primary purpose of getting pagehits for personal blogs, e.g. "clickbait". (b) Posts for the sole purpose of soliciting business for private interests. Bloggers and Sellers view this page to see what you can and cannot do.Summary of changes: We have clarified what is and is not allowed for bloggers and companies under Rule 2. This Wiki Page describes our philosophy on these changes. Proposed New Rule 8:8. Post Descriptions: (a) Link/image posts require a description in the comments, unless the post title adequately describes the contents. This description must contain, at the very least, a statement of how the post relates to self-defense; or it could be a thought, summary, or question in order to foster discussion in the comments. (b) If the post is a picture of your carry setup, it must contain more than just a photograph of your weapon. You must post a comment describing your carry setup, and a summary of your thoughts on it.Community feedback: Remove “unless the post title adequately describes the contents.” This creates a hard-rule that all link/image posts will require such a comment as described in the rule.New Rule 8:8.
