My SO and I are planning on getting married and of course kids are in those plans later on as well. She knows I carry and actually prefers that I do. I carry FNS9c at 8 o'clock, always chambered, in a stealth gear onyx holster. However, she is very concerned that when we have kids I'm going to leave my gun out or one of them will pull it off of me when I've got my hands full and could discharge it. Unfortunately she is also very smart (kidding, it's a good thing) and has done plenty of research on kids and firearm accidents. It also doesn't help that a 3 year old in our county died last week due to grabbing his father's carry handgun. She said no more carrying once we have kids and I protested. We compromised with empty chamber carry. I see her side completely and she is NOT willing to budge on this. But I am still resistant to switching carry styles. My question is have any of you switched from carrying with one in the chamber to empty chamber because of children or any other reason? Do you have any experience with talking about this with your SO and what were the agreed compromises?TLDR: SO will ONLY let me carry as long as the chamber is empty when kids come along via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/1QPbZXZ
