Hello,I have a S&W 686 Plus 5-shot 357 Magnum 2-inch revolver (J frame) as a CCW. It has the option of using 38 Special or 357 Magnum bullets. At the range, firing 357s through it results in quite the kickback whereas the 38s are much less recoil-y.Until now, based on advice I had taken from a very learned friend (who said that adrenaline would mask any difference in an emergency situation), I have kept the firearm loaded with 357s when using it as a CCW.However, I read somewhere that that might be considered overkill, especially if I ever had to discharge my firearm in an enclosed space, such as a car. While the 357s' stopping power is considerably greater (apparently) than the 38s, a 38 would be plenty to stop the threat if I ever needed it.I'm a noob, so very interested to hear your thoughts. via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/1SNzQge
