I was getting in my truck to leave McDonald's tonight when I see a 30ish year old man leading a small boy (7 years old?) by the hand. They were of different races. He looked around and then pulled the child into a concrete dumpster enclosure. I sat there for a second thinking I don't know wtf is going on, but this is not good.It was still daylight, and there were about 8 people total in the parking lot either eating or loitering. The whole time my mind was racing with possible outcomes, and I was terrified. Like potentially getting into a fight in a tiny concrete enclosure with a child there? Looking like a racist asshole by pulling my gun on an innocent father doing something legitimate? Stand outside the enclosure waiting on police while a child is potentially being sodomized? His buddy who may or may not have been waiting in the car come in behind me?Those were all thoughts I had. I was kinda lost at how best to approach it. Typically I would not have intervened. But a child was involved, and I would rather die than stand idly by while he was being harmed.I shut off my truck, began prepping my phone to dial 911, and marched my ass across the parking lot. I was maybe only 20 feet away from the enclosure considering my next move when the man peeked his head around the corner and saw me. He and the boy then ran out in a dead sprint and hopped in a van being driven by a woman. The van peeled out of the lot. That really wasn't a scenario I have ever trained for. It's an atypical environment, and it's not a sexy hold up scenario. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2VDfLDN
