April Constitutional Carry Update

We now have 18 Constitutional Carry states (and pretty much 19, see below). In January, I predicted that we'd get 3 states passed this year. We already have 2 (+1) with optimistic movement on 1-2 more! Keep a close watch on your state and contact your representatives early and often.PASSED in 2021Congratulations Utah and Montana! Montana also passed campus carry. Ohio passed stand your ground.RECENT MOVEMENTTN has done all but sign it. The governor tweeted that he was ready to sign it, so we're just waiting on the actual signature. This is state #19!NEEDS A PUSH RIGHT NOWIA leapfrogged a bunch of states and surprised us and passed Constitutional Carry in the House and Senate! We just need the Governor to actually sign it. Contact your Governor RIGHT NOW and urge her to sign it! You can be damn sure anti-gunners are calling her right now. If she signs it it will be state #20. She vetoed it last time, however, we've recently had 6 governors get thrown out or resign after a Constitutional Carry veto, so let's hope she sees the writing on the wall if she vetoes it in her increasingly red state. (5 R, 1 D: OK, SD, MT, UT, TN, and GA. Obviously GA is the odd-man out but constitutional carry was a part of his campaign). You can also call 515-281-5211 to register an opinion on the bill.TX had a marathon committee meeting discussing Constitutional Carry, but hasn't had any votes yet. The Governor is being generically supportive of pro-2A bills. Contact your reps here and push for this. This may be the last chance Texas has.IN passed HB1319 in the house. The bill is now stalled in the Judiciary committee. Contact your State Senators and push for this! The only hope I've seen is that we had 7 new cosponsors added to the bill on March 30th, many of them in the Judiciary Committee. That means that currently of the 11 members of the committee, 6 are cosponsors. If it comes up for a vote, that means they should have the votes to pass it. However, it needs to be brought up for a vote first! I did a bit more digging on the chairperson, Senator Liz Brown of Fort Wayne, IN. I didn't see any obvious donations from Everytown or Moms Demand Action (like what happened with the former House committee members last session), so I think contacting your State Senators to push for this may work!NO MOVEMENTLA has just had chatter from state lawmakers about passing constitutional carry, and a not too anti-gun D governor so there's a chance. Contact your reps here.SC hasn't had much movement on Constitutional Carry but passed Open Carry in the House. Contact your reps here.AL has been figuring out how they want to approach the 2A this session. The NRA is trying to pressure them to pass Constitutional Carry. Contact your reps here.OH Just some minor news regarding the newly introduced bill, but no movement. Contact your reps here.GA is looking bad all around, but they passed a reciprocity bill in the Senate. Contact your reps here.FL No new news (although I've heard of some good state lobbying efforts by the GOA, really making me want to join them). Contact your reps here. Please let me know if you're from any of these states and have more information. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3duWZUl
