Oklahoma game warden told my cousin he wasn’t allowed to carry

So my cousin was stopped on public hunting lands for shooting skeet today. Apparently the laws changed this season and you’re no longer allowed to shoot skeet anymore, but that’s not even near the interesting part. The first kicker was that the warden told him it would cost him $100 to pay the ticket on the spot or $250 if he paid it later... so of course he pays $100 cash to the warden right there! Then, because you have to identify yourself as carrying when stopped by a law enforcement officer, he starts giving him crap about that and tells him that he’s not allowed to have his carry weapon loaded when he’s in his car!! My cousin says that can’t be true, and the guy says well, the law defines loaded as having one in the chamber...I found this so unbelievable that I just had to check for myself. The law explicitly states:Except as otherwise provided by the provisions of the Oklahoma Self-Defense Act or another provision of law, it shall be unlawful to transport a loaded pistol, rifle or shotgun in a land borne motor vehicle over a public highway or roadwayIt also states:Loaded firearm shall mean any firearm that has live rounds in an inserted clip, attached magazine, cylinder or chamberSo this guy was wrong on both counts. And most likely pocketed the cash for the “pay it now and it’s half price” “ticket”. At this point I’m doubting there was any rule change about skeet shooting to begin with. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2AuU1N9
