[Humor] Forget federal reciprocity, wouldn't it be nice to have federal consistency of permit names?

Looking through what concealed carry permits are called in every state:5 states call it a "Concealed Handgun Permit": Alaska, Colorado, Louisiana, Nebraska, North Carolina, Virginia;4 3 states call it a "Concealed Handgun License": New Mexico, Ohio, Oregon;3 states call it a "Concealed Carry License": Illinois, Kansas, Wisconsin;3 states call it a "Concealed Firearms Permit": Nevada, Utah, Wyoming;A total of 14 states share their permit's name with one other state (so 7 pairs);20 states use a unique name for their permit;1 state does not issue permits. In this tally, I considered different word orders or additional lexical words as different permit names — e.g. Kentucky's "Concealed Deadly Weapons License" is different from Delaware's "License to Carry Concealed Deadly Weapons". I considered pluralization or conjugation of the same word as the same permit name — e.g. Oklahoma's "Concealed Weapon License" is the same as Idaho's "Concealed Weapons License".Names were drawn from pictures of the permits themselves when possible, and from the laws. via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2AEmhve
