10 mm owners, are they reliable enough to carry for 2 legged predators? Been watching more vids today, then reading forums, and seems a lot of people have had a lot more problems with mostly FTF's and some FTE's in Glocks than I had believed.Sorry if this is a lot of thoughts and questions, but trying to see if 10mm should be my next pistol or not.Cheaper 1911 10mms I wouldn't buy, if went with 1911 platform would save it for an SR1911 Ruger birthday or xmas self gun present next year.I have a pretty nice Striker fired double stack 9mm collection now, but 10mm and .41 magnum are the most intriguing handgun rounds to me ballistically speaking (though I think if 7.62 had modern platform and HSTs it would be amazing-Been unable to find a new Zastava M57A when last year they were cheap :( ).Often toy with idea of getting a G29 or G20 SF Gen 3.....overall believe all glocks seemed to be more reliable in Gen 3 vs 4...feel free to tell me if wrong, and the 10mms more so. Also seems maybe G29s more FTFs then G20s w heavier loads (slide velocity and flex difference perhaps?). Even though Ruger SR1911 is 40 ounces it would be something nice to carry occasionally. 9 times 178 gr. avg is about half of 22 times 124 gr. I usually carry so around 44 ounces vs 32.5 loaded difference (not cartridge weight I know but rough estimate of 2 of my 9mms in winter carry w 21 or 22 rounds). Glock 20 SF w 16 rounds about 33.5 ounces so much closer to my already fairly heavy winter load.Any 10mm's how is reliability with different ammo and how dependent is it on a particular amount of grip pressure and wrist locking? If anyone has experience with these particular 3 feel free to pipe in, and how is reliability when running them fast and hard? Have you, or is it just occasional range fun? What about stable stiff 2 hand grip, vs firing when moving, vs one handed (even if unpleasant or ill advised). I am talking about carrying primarily for 2 legged not 4, though having that option if I decide to go hermit camp lifestyle for awhile might be nice. To become really reliable with very warm to hotter ammo, did you have to change recoil springs, be very mindful of a certain amount of grip pressure and wrist locking for each particular ammo? Or as long as you man handle it you are fine, or have you had failures due to over gripping not just limp wristing?Looking at ammo like 175 gr. Silvertips, Underwood 180 gr. Gold Dots, or 180 JSP (I think one guy on here carries these). Would play with idea of Dutch loading Silvertips odd number and stouter Underwood 180 gr. even number for double tap then transitions.....but perhaps overall recoil and slide velocity difference would make this more likely to jam vs the lighter 9/40/45 that really don't have any issue with this. Finally, for Glock 10mm owners, whom here has ran .40 for cheaper plinking?Would you buy a 10 mm today, with any and all problems you have had if you have had, and stuff that needed fixing or changing, combined with ammo cost? If yes, but would it be a different pistol and if so which one? (10mm revolvers believe they are too expensive and rare for my blood, and would prob. go .41 mag instead).Thank you via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2kO09Lc
