A skinny guys guide to double stacks.

It took me a long time to get comfortable carrying a double stack. Being 5'9" 130 doesn't give you a lot of real estate. . I did a lot of research trying to find tips pertaining to people as thin as I am. Couldn't find any other than one guy in /r/malefashionadvice who was carrying a bodyguard. What I learned was that its hard to hide a thick gun on a thin frame. Now that I feel I've got it down I thought I might bring what I learned here and share. Maybe yall can give me a few pointers.A lot of this is going to be a no brainer to you folks who have been carrying for years but this isn't for you.First and foremost. Grip length. You need to be wide to hide grip. I'm not, I cant.Secondly, holsters. I didn't shop around as much as some and I may still buy more looking for comfort but I found what works for me. I started with that shitty nylon Blackhawk! IWB holster we all know and love (hate). Which actually worked better than I'm willing to admit. The problem was that I was unwilling to keep a round chambered in that holster due to the fact that its flimsy and the trigger can still be pulled. There's an article out there somewhere about some guy who put a hollow point through his ass cheek thanks to one of these holsters if anyone wants to look it up. So after a bit of research I bought myself a Gcode Incog after deciding that AIWB was best for me.Too big. Looked like I had a full fanny pack in my pants. Sold it and bought a Raven Vanguard 2. I wanted a holster that was absolutely minimal while still keeping my trigger safe. Well that concealed just fine but I couldn't get my draw right. Did hours of practice trying to get it straight. Wasn't working. The strut that hooks the belt loop to the holster kept rotating and would make getting the gun out a pain. So I JB welded that fucker to the holster. Problem solved. I also cut the lanyard loop off because fuck off body carry. Now it carries like a dream.Third, clothing. This is simple. Levi's 514 / 511 and a plain Target T shirt. Seriously, if you get nothing else from this, those shirts are made for thin people. That's all I've got. Heres some pictures to give you guys a better idea of what I'm working with.ImgurImgurImgurImgurNow I don't want this to come across as product endorsement or any of that shit. I just wanna show what worked for me. And I still carry my girlfriends Shield in a sticky holster because its a lot more comfortable but this is what I'm working with most days. You got critiques? Lemme here 'em. Anyway, thanks for reading. via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/29FnDfm
