Tales of My Drunk Neighbor

It’s 4:35am and dark as hell outside. Both my wife and I are sleeping and our son and nephew are sleeping in another room. I hear some banging around that wakes me up but I can’t really tell where it’s coming from so I sit up straight thinking I’m dreaming. To my surprise it stops so I lay back down a few mins pass and it happens again. This time my wife wakes up and yells at me to stop hitting stuff. Well, I’m not that’s why I am up.Bump in the night drill in full effect. She leans over, opens her safe, grabs gun and heads to our sons bedroom. She shuts and locks his door behind her. I lean over grab gun out of my safe and the banging is sounding like it’s coming through our house at this point. I see nothing and I don’t feel the house shaking or see any glass breaking as it seems like it should be. The alarm company hasn’t called my phone yet, I glance over at the display screen and this is when I realize she never hit the button. At this point the banging has stopped though. My brain is overwhelmed with what I’m supposed to be doing. I can’t figure out if I need to still hit the buttons or continue to make my way through the house. I decide the latter. I make it to my front door and see lights so I peak out the blinds then everything made sense. My neighbor had attempted to back his boat into his driveway, ran over his mailbox, hit another parked vehicle in his driveway and he was fighting the trailer trying to get it off the hitch. I feel like a bozo for not realizing nothing was going on inside my house. I shake my head, calm myself down and tell my wife we’re all clear. The banging continues for another 15 or so min until I hear him pull off. The boat is here and he is not but when I do see him we’re gonna have a little talk. He’s a friendly guy but obviously drinks way too damn much. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2VEsyFE
