I was downtown, at 9:30 PM ish waiting for a friend to go on a nice evening walk with. I was sitting, head on a swivel just looking around to make sure I was safe, even though I was waiting maybe 100 ft from the police department. I saw a homeless dude walking in my direction, and he looked uh... not exactly calm. Got ready by taking my headphones off, standing up, and made a plan to get out of there. Guess what, he started raging 6 feet away from me, literally ripped his shirt open and off, swung it around like a madman and kicked the sign near me, all while yelling at the top of his lungs. The fucking adrenaline bro. I ran across the street in front of moving cars as fast as I could, with my hand on my gat. He followed me but the cars that nearly missed me formed a wall between him and me. Stood there in disbelief while he gave me a death glare from across the street. When the cars passed he started walking towards me again. Warning, this is really dumb, but my adrenaline brain decided the best course of action was to give him the death glare back at him. He turned around, ran down the street while yelling at the top of his lungs again, kicked over two more trash cans, and disappeared around the corner. If I hadn't mentally prepared to escape 10 seconds earlier I would have had to use my gun. This is so fucked man. I've been concealed carrying for literally THREE FUCKING DAYS man. What the fuck. There are a lot of homeless people where I live but in multiple years living here, nothing even close to this has ever happened to me. Moral of the story is pay attention all the time people. After this encounter I flagged down a police officer in his vehicle and describe the situation. He really didn't give a shit to be honest. It's up to you and you alone to cover your ass and stay safe. I'm shookEDIT: For the people in the comments who have issues with reading comprehension, I DID NOT DRAW MY GUN. It never left my holster and it was NEVER VISIBLE. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3fLuwLN
