Girlfriend is uncomfortable with my carrying, only around her

Like the title says, my girlfriend has recently told me she's uncomfortable and would prefer for me not to carry a gun when I'm with her. She said the reason was she doesn't want me to get shot by a cop if I get pulled over. I think that's a very bad reason, and that the benefits of carrying far outweigh any potential downside, AS LONG AS you are responsible carrying a gun. There's a lot of idiots out there, I do agree to that, "wild west pimp style".I also just got my permit about a week ago, so all of this is new to both of us.
