Looking to get a pistol for home defense, and I am curious, what happens after a home defense shooting in a state with stand your ground/castle doctrine? I know what happens after a self defense shooting not in the home, there's plenty of info on that, but really none on what happens if you shoot and injure/kill an attacker forcibly entering your home. Am I somewhat correct in assuming that the blame would almost always be put on the intruder, especially if there are signs of forced entry (broken window, kicked in door), and especially if there is a weapon present? Would I also be somewhat correct in assuming that a home defense investigation is likely going to be cut and dry, much more so than an out of home shooting? Thanks via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2oDDMqg
