My mom demanded that I don't carry, after she thought about it she started to change her mind.

Edit: For context, I am 25 years old, living on my own but i saw my parents today for dinner.Today eating dinner out with my parents I mentioned to my dad that I got a holster for my .380 (both of them are against conceal carry but I wanted to test the water, as I'm currently applying for my permit). He knows I went to the range today and asked me about that so it wasn't brought up unsolicited. To abbreviate a long incident, my mom got pretty cross and told me I was gonna end up shooting myself and what kind of delusional paranoid person would I have to be to want to carry a gun.I tried to explain why I wanted to have the means to protect myself, but it was just getting more antagonistic, which isn't what I wanted at all. I just wanted to ease into telling them I definitely want to carry. My mom sat quietly for a while after she was done talking. I said I was sorry for bringing it up I didn't realize it would cause a fight. After 8-10 minutes of silence my mom says something to the effect of "you know, when I grew up there weren't all these school shootings, all of these people being shot in public. I don't agree with it, but I can see why you would want to carry a gun, and I'll be okay with it just stay safe"I was going to carry regardless but it feels great that my mom went from calling me a delusional paranoid idiot to seeing my point of view a bit. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2CrPu0O
