Another LEO encounter story. I was pulled over for speeding, but the officer told me because of how I handled myself (and my clean record) she was letting me off with a warning. I thought I would recap in the hopes of saving others some money. Before I was pulled over:Keep my wallet on my console so I won't have to dig it.Keep my insurance card in my visor for same reason. When I knew I was getting stopped:Grabbed ID's/insurance.Rolled down window.Kept both my hands at 12 on the wheel.Officer Interaction:Greeted the officer with a smile.Handed my info over with both hands. (Overkill, but I do it anyways)DID NOT SAY ANYTHING ABOUT MY FIREARM, let my permit do the talking.Returned both my hands to 12 on the wheel. At this point she asked if I was currently carrying, I told her yes I was and it is on my right hip. She said she greatly appreciates me letting her know. MN is not a duty to inform state, but I've decided I want officers to know right away, instead of finding out if they ask me to step out of the car for some stupid reason. She returned to her car, I kept my hands at 12 on the wheel and tried not to fidget or anything, especially hard when I'm nervous. She returned with a written warning, she said she didn't want to tarnish my clean record "ESPECIALLY WHEN MY CONDUCT WAS BY THE BOOK" holding my permit to carry in one had. She told me to have a good labor day weekend, I did the same and off I went.So thank you to all that have shared info regarding LEO encounters, you saved me some money. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2PwdpxP
