So, I have my CCW permit now and have been carrying for about a week. It feels great! I am very new to firearms but have enough training and experience where I am safe and comfortable with them. But, I do have a question regarding ammunition. Backround: When I had my CCW class, I asked the same question to the teacher, who is a NRA certified firearms instructor. The question I asked him was; "What do you think about rechambering rounds? I was doing a lot of research online about firearms and ammo and came across a lot of articles of people saying you should never rechamber ammunition. Actually, almost everywhere it says that you're not supposed to rechamber rounds because it can cause malfunctions and can sometimes even cause your firearm to explode. What do you think?" I was expecting him to tell me I shouldn't do it. However, I did see both sides to the story and wasn't sure what was real. So, I figured I'd ask a certified NRA instructor. He'll know all about this. This is what he replied with; "Wow. I really don't know anything about that. If you're reading stuff on the internet about guns exploding from rechambering rounds, I'd be careful who you get your information from... I've been reusing the same carry rounds in my gun for about 5-6 years now." Needless to say, I felt like an idiot. He kind of made me look stupid in front of everyone. But if you look up "Rechambering rounds" you will see alot of articles and people saying not to do it. You will also see people say it's a myth. (I know it's the internet and not everything you see should be believed. Lol) But seriously, all I'm looking for in this thread, is knowledgeable and educated firearm owners to weigh in and tell me what you think of rechambering ammunition. This question has been bothering me for quite some time and I want some cold hard facts. So... Do you rechamber ammo? If not, why don't you? And lastly, what do you think of the instructor's response? Was he right?Any help would be great! Respectful Discussion/Debate is welcome!I appreciate your time and thanks in advance for responding!Brandon via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2wDTTI1
