At work, I had a chat with the security director about CC...

At my place of work in California (Aerospace Engineering Company), we have an "Employee handbook". It is basically HRs governing document. Every mention of not allowing firearms on the premises has a statement thrown in that says "unless allowed by state law". I have a CCW in CA (no easy feat) for reasons I wont mention here or to my employer. According to this document, I am allowed to carry as permitted by CA state law. No problem right?Last week, all employees received a "Violence prevention" document where the "unless allowed by state law" was not included. It was also mentioned that in the case of an active shooter, we need to run/hide, and as a last resort, "yelling" and "throwing items" is encouraged.... yeah ok....Spare the "It's concealed just carry anyways" comments. Me being the law abiding citizen I am, I had a chat with the security director. To my surprise he has a permit yet doesn't carry at work. WTF? I'm not even allowed to have it stored in my car while I park on the premises. My daily schedule is work->school->home (I park the car off school campus). So I pretty much can't have a firearm on me at all even though I am one of the few allowed to in socialist California...TLDR I have a CCW but can't carry for most of my day (work/school), nor can I even have it in my car. So what is the point of me having a permit? What are your thoughts on my situation? via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2zoIr6p
