Which double stack 9's should I try?

This has been an awesome forum for advice - thanks again to all of you. Of course, now I'm asking for more...So I finished another range trip with my K40 (Kahr steel .40 single-stack), and decided that it will not be my CCW again. I stopped carrying it a while ago due to reliability problems, and after trying different ammo, being really anal about cleaning & lubing... it still fails to go into battery sometimes after a few rounds have gone into it. A light tap fixes it, but that's not acceptable for a carry gun. I'm guessing that the slide is a little tight and a good gunsmith could correct that, but I'd never trust it.I still want a semi-auto carry gun, though. Much as I like my little revolver, a few more rounds, a little more power, and I just like semi-autos better. So that said, what should I try-before-I-buy? Here are some relevant wants & experiences:I have an older XD in .45 that fits my hand perfectly (4" barrel with the "compact" grip), even without the mag extension. The Kahr really digs into the web of my hand after a few rounds, something my double-stack guns (the XD and an enormous Ruger 9 that was my first buy) don't do.I don't feel comfortable trying to conceal the XD. I think it's the barrel more than the grip - it digs in when I sit, even when I do the muffin-top-lift. That said, the grip does print a little AIWB. I didn't even try it behind the hip.I think the G19 is identical in size to the XD, but I could be mistaken. (The guy at the gun shop tried to talk me into one, but I wasn't interested at the time.) So I'd want something a little shorter and probably with a slighly shorter grip. The K40 isn't as accurate for me as my S&W 642. I think it's recoil, and I think the shape of my hands (XL, but kinda spindly) is why. The revolver would probably bother me if it were a high-pressure round. So that means 9mm is my safest bet (if I was going to go less, I'd just stick with the .38), and a double-stack will probably be more comfortable than single. 10rd capacity will do just fine (and I could live with as little as 8). If the grip is a little short I'll add a pinky extension to the mags.G26 is obvious and I'm going to rent one to see if it works for me. What other guns seem like they might work? via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2onLeaj
