This was at home on her lunch break, she called me afterwards...her father and two brothers are all active or retired LE. She grew up shooting and is a pretty cool operator, not easily riled or frightend.I will copy and paste her text:"Home for lunch and some creepy dude was yelling at the neighbors bushes. He watched me pull in then started towards me. I bee lined it into the house and sure enough he came up screaming and yelling and started pounding on the door. The dogs went nuts!" (we have wiener dogs and a 12 year old mid sized mutt... SUPER scary...)I ll spare you the long version but she drew her weapon and positioned herself around the hallway corner, still able to see him through the front door window. He eventually stopped pounding and kinda milled around the front porch area talking to himself and waving his hands around. He eventually left but only after fiddling around with various things on the porch including pressing on the windows and picking at some paint (creepy). She said he did not have the "drugged" out look but rather looked "special" (her words!) He was also a large man, she said taller and bigger than myself and I am 5-11 230It was the first time she ever actually drew her weapon and held it in her hand thinking "I might have to use this" (not counting the range, of course)One thing she learned from all this is that as she was positioning herself in a good area in case he did come through the door (so proud of her!) she was holding her gun while trying to get her phone out to call the police, with the stress of the situation (she said he was POUNDING, not knocking on the door) she really fumbled to do so. By the time she was in a position to call, the individual had wandered out to our driveway (to stand and yell at NOTHING some more) and about a min or two later moved on down the street. She still called and they said they would come out and do a check. They stopped by talked to her and got a description then moved on down the road. No idea if they found him or not (though it's not technically ILLEGAL to walk around crazy and pound on doors mind you !)All in all it rattled her a bit but also made her think about the situation, her actions and a lot of "what-if's?"Just thought I would share this story with you guys and ask if you would have done anything differently in her case keeping in mind shes all of 5-2 and 127 lbs. via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2nnKSkI
