Convince me to CCW (or don't)

I am doing a bit of soul searching atm about if I actually want to CCW. I was hoping to get some opinions to help me to decide.First to give some background. I just recently got my CCW permit in the state of CT, thanks to CTs new gun laws. Until a few years ago, I had been content with having the ability to purchase a long gun with a waiting period and no restriction on ammo. Now that they tightened the rules, I said fine....if we are going to play that game I am getting a concealed carry permit, and once I have a permit I may as well purchase a pistol as well. I had intended to stick to HD and target shooting but recently I have been giving CCW some consideration as well. Also to note, I have a sig p229 legion on order so that is the pistol in question. I don't want to go any smaller for a first pistol. The good news is that I am 5'11 and 240lbs and wear fairly baggy clothing already so I don't think concealing will be a huge issue.Personally I am indifferent to CCW, as I have never had any situations where I have felt mortally threatened and I really don't feel threatened in public spaces. However, my wife does worry about all the crazies out there and I think she would be in favor. So getting back to my title, can people help me decide what to do, or at least give me some thoughts to consider? On one hand CCW is good for protection, on the other CT is a PITA with gun restrictions in many places (force of law state) and there is always the non zero chance of negative outcome if it is used. via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/1RXM6G3
