Second time carrying and I had to state I was carrying to some officers

Wall of text warning!I just thought I would share my story about my encounter with the police yesterday. Last week I got my holster in the mail, so I am now able to carry and last night I was doing it around the house to get used to it (only the second time because I go to college and don't go out much). My roommates decided that they were going to have a party last night, so they invited quite a few people over. Well of course living in an apartment complex, that didn't go well with the neighbors. Around 1 or so the police knock on our door telling us we need to stop the party and everyone needs to leave. My roommate starts arguing and gets taken to the car. During that time everyone at the party leaves.Well after that, three officers come back up to check out the situation. I answer the door with my other roommates, and in doing so I divulge that I am carrying a concealed weapon on me and haven't had a thing to drink all night and I can show them my license (Ohio requires it). The one officer responded with, "Cool, I am carrying too! I don't need to see anything." Then we sat there and talked for 15 minutes about various things. The one lady police officer sees we have a Guinea pig and starts talking to us about it and asks to pet it. She also notices the birds we have and talks about those. She also jokingly asks the other police officer if he wants to play a game of beer pong. After all the talking they leave and tell us to have a good night and not to have anymore loud parties.I am just sharing all of this to tell how my first experience was with talking to police officers while carrying. Also, I am sharing this to just say that police officers are normal humans like us who like to joke and pet cute animals. Overall it was a good experience and thought it was funny, so I thought I would share it with everyone here.TL;DR: Had to tell officers I was carrying and one said "Cool, me too!" Then we talked about fun stuff. via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/1TbRs19
