Hey r/ccw, I haven't posted or read much here, but I got out and shot some single-stack 9s today, and am looking at picking one up for concealed carry. My two favorites were the Glock 43 and the Ruger LC9S. I didn't much care for a few of the others I shot (the XDs and the M&P Shield weren't as good of a fit for me), but I feel a bit torn between these two.My biggest concern with the Ruger LC9S (I would be getting the pro model, but what I shot was a rental, and the standard model) is that while shooting it, the magazine dropped a couple times. This wasn't me hitting the mag release, in fact, I thought I was losing it until I found that when loaded, the magazine could be "wiggled" out of the gun.I haven't heard of this being an issue when I was looking into different 9s I could try out today, so it was a small point of concern for me. Is this a common issue, or perhaps just an issue with this used rental weapon the range had? Unfortunately, I don't have another LC9S sitting around to try. Is this fixable, or, since I grip this in a way that "rips" the mag out (that's where my pinky rests) sometimes when I shoot, should I lean towards the glock?Aside from that issue, the only thing I don't like about the Glock is the slide release. If this was just an odd issue that I had with the Ruger today, than I'd probably go with the LC9S, but if that's a more common thing than I can find on the internet, perhaps I'll lean towards the glock, even though it looks to be a little more expensive.Any other thoughts/advice are welcome too, as this will be my first CC pistol. I'm looking to carry IWB as well, and have barely started to research holsters as well. o.o via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/1NVu7zn
