Got refused entry to the Coleman Young Municipal Center in Detroit for having an empty holster on my belt.

Long story short:Had to go to the county courthouse this morning to take care of some bullshit. It's Detroit, so I'm not going unarmed. Of course, before I go in, I empty my pockets of everything but my car key & remote door unlocker.Big line at security, as expected. Here comes my turn. Through the metal detector. It beeps. Try again, sir. It beeps again. She wants to look at my belt buckle. I lift up my shirt to show her and she sees my holster. That's not allowed, sir. You have to leave now! It's empty. Look. That's not allowed, sir. You need to leave now.According to what rule? What law? I'd like to see your supervisor.Sir, if you don't leave the building now, I'm going to have you arrested. And at that, and the sight of two of Detroit's "finest" lumbering towards me, I just went back to my car to take it off.The county has no official website, and thus no officially published list of prohibited items. The only such list I can find anywhere online is an article by WXYZ.com published a little over a year ago, and that list does not include holsters.I don't know. That's my story. AMA. Throw in your two cents. Or not. via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/1StiEfN
