Can cops ask to see your CCW license just bec they noticed you are carrying?

I was in the store today and saw a couple of cops looking at me. They didn't approach me but I realized I was adjusting my CCW before I noticed them and don't know if they saw me. I started wondering what should I do if they approach me and ask. Of course, I will let them know but if they asked to see my license as proof, am I obliged to even though it wasn't crime-related?I couldn't find anything in my state.
