I apologize if my title isn't exactly worded well. I am a active duty service member stationed in Texas, and holiday leave is coming up and I want to travel to the Chicago suburban area to visit family and friends. I have a license to carry a handgun here in the great state of Texas, and I own a 1911. If I were to take my weapon in my car secured and loaded in my carrying case to Illinois, would that be illegal? I did my research and I am finding conflicted answers.
