"Safe Transport" and a vehicle storage question.

/r/ccw, I have a quick question regarding "Safe Transportation" of my CCW across state lines. This is going to be my first time carrying out of state, so I just want to make sure I understand everything to avoid any possible legal snags. I have read up on the laws, but I'd rather ask and be reaffirmed as opposed to breaking any laws. Background: I have an Ohio License, and I will be traveling to Michigan this week for work. I understand my licence is valid in MI. My employer actively encourages me to carry, so there's no issues with work.Question 1 - While I won't be working in detroit, I will drive though there, and I was unsure if detroit had different laws than the rest of MI regarding transport of my CW. Am I allowed to drive through status quo (firearm holstered and concealed), or do I need to separate my firearm from the ammunition in 2 seperate locked boxes in the trunk to be complient?Question 2 - I will be doing quite a bit of work on, and right next to school grounds (not inside the building), and from what I understand we're doing all of our equipment staging on school grounds, so that's where my vehicle will be parked. I'm obviously not going to carry on school grounds, but am I allowed to keep a loaded firearm locked in my vehicle in the school parking lot? Or does it need to be seperated for safe transport? Am I even allowed to have it in the vehicle on school grounds? I would like to have it when I'm NOT working, but I'm probably going to be sleeping on a trailer on site, and have nowhere else to keep it.Again, I know these are probably stupid questions, but I wanted to ask. Thanks! via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2swn5B6
