LEO puts my carry in Single Action mode at a stop!

This is a cautionary tale.I am a motorcyclist. I got pulled over, LEO has already ran my license and starts with "Mr. Throwaway, I see you have a CCW. Are you carrying?"She politely disarms me.Turns out the whole thing was a typo at DMV.She puts the holstered firearm in trunk of my bike, tells me to rearm when I get to my destination and wished me well.I get to destination, put holstered firearm back into my inside kutte pocket where it belongs and don't think anything of it. A kutte is a biker vest.Today, I decide to look at my revolver. To my horror, it was in single action mode. The tiniest of trigger bumps and it goes off. It had been in this state, in my vest for a week.I am 100% certain the LEO put the firearm in this state during the traffic stop. I am 100% mystified why/how she did this. She was clearly nervous during the encounter.I was panicked, and did not recognize this state. I did not recognize it as being in SA because the only time it is in SA mode is when pointed down range and does not stay in that mode long. I certainly never looked it over in that state. All I knew was the action would not open, the trigger was back, and the hammer was cocked.I went to the nearest shooting range, got it pointed in a safe direction and out of SA mode. Had I recognized this mode, I could have found a safe direction and done this at home. I still might have gone to the range though because there is never a safe enough direction in an apartment complex.Lessons learnedI had no choice but to let someone else touch my firearm, but I should have fully inspected it at the nearest opportunity.I should have recognized SA mode, but I would have probably gone to the range anyways to get out of SAMy trigger guard and kutte as holster is an excellent trigger guard apparently via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2ofrN4A
