Please let me know what you think. -KrysDear Your Honor,My name is Krys ----- and I am sending this letter to request an unrestricted concealed carry permit in New York State.I have been a resident of Ulster County since 2008. As an avid outdoors-woman who enjoys exploring, hiking, and camping alone, there is always the possibility of coming into contact with an aggressive or dangerous animal, or even possibly another human that may wish to cause me harm. Although I hope to never have to use it, it would be reassuring to have a firearm with me to protect myself should I be placed into a situation where I would need it.I am also a freelance graphic designer, because of this I handle large sums of money and make frequent cash deposits during the day and the night at the bank, which can attract unwanted attention. There have been a few instances where I have been followed by a few men when I am alone. Not to mention, as hate crimes and vandalism against Latinos and LGBTQ people increase across the country, especially in Ulster County, I fear of being targeted as well. I fully understand that deadly force cannot be used in defense of property, cash or belongings of any value. I fully understand Article 35 and the use of deadly force under NYS law only allows deadly force as a last resort if no avenue of escape is present.In the meantime am planning to take several classes on handgun safety, as well as long gun safety training, and hopefully in the future I hope to participate in the NRA Competitive Shooting Division.Thank you for your time, Krys ------ via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2VCK3Tu
