32 Shot Ammo Saver Drill

Some of the people I help are tight on ammo, so I share this drill with them. The key is to record and CHART your scores. Things that get charted tend to improve over time.Target is a paper IDPA practice target, but the USPSA version is fine. Targets are 32 cents each if you buy 100 or more. I set up at 30 feet. Use any distance you want, but be consistent.https://ift.tt/37JAhG1 8 rounds. From the start position of your choice (some ranges discourage draw from the holster), shoot 2 to the chest, 1 to pelvis, and 1 to head, with both hands. Try to be consistent about speed; 4-5 seconds should be a good place to start. if you can do it in 2.5 seconds, you're doing well.Right hand only, shoot the other 4 in the magazine, aiming at the same places on the paper.Load 8 more. Shoot 4 left hand only. Stop, then shoot the last 4 with both hands. You should have fired 16 shots, 8 into the chest, 4 into the the pelvis, and 4 into the head.I shoot it twice on the same target. Given that 8 of 32 should be in the down 3 (-3 points) pelvic area, the best score is -24.Remember the key to progress is to chart the results over time. People have proven over and over that the visual feedback of a paper or Excel chart drives change, whether it's shooting, weight loss, or industrial processes. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3rpySMR
