PSA: Remember to always make sure that when you carry, you not only have 1 in the pipe, but also more in the magazine.

This didn't happen today, but a few weeks back I was doing some dry fire drills at home with my EDC gun. This gun also happens to be my nightstand gun, so 99% of the time, it's loaded and in the holster and accessible for if I were to ever need it in the middle of the night. Anyway, I was home alone, decided to do some draw and dry fire exercises. I drop the mag, clear the chamber, and insert an empty mag into the gun. I put my holster on, spend sometime doing drills, and when I finished, I put the gun in my holster, and set it on the nightstand. After a few quick chores around the house, I decided to go out. I grabbed my gun, put it on and spent a good 2-2.5 hours going to a few different stores. When I got home, I took off my holster, and noticed that on my coffee table there was 1 lone bullet, and 1 full magazine. I took the gun out and realized I just spent half a day walking around with a useless paper weight attached to my hip.Fortunately, I did not need it, but had I needed it, I would've been screwed. So, just a friendly reminder to new and old CCWers, it doesn't hurt to double check your gear before going out. Even before this incident, I usually did, but somehow I forgot to this time. Since then, I have been double checking to make sure I have 1 in the pipe and a full magazine before I leave the door. I'm sharing this story, because we are all human, we forget things, we make mistakes, and sometimes we may be in a rush. Regardless, make it a point to always double check your gear. Also, unsure if scenario is the right piece of flair for this, but it is a scenario to a certain degree. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/35EN6Pk
