Somewhat related to the greater topic of self defense in general, but are exterior security cameras easy to install in apartments or rented townhouses? Or would that be a bureaucratic landlord nightmare?

Just something I was thinking about when you don't know whether the person outside at odd hours is malicious criminal, possible lost drunk, or police.
