Scenario: Shooter(s) in a public space (multiple other CCW and civilians in the area)

Some shower thoughts when thinking about how to respond if one comes across one (or more) active shooters in a public space (e.g. a park, movie theater, shopping mall). Admittedly low chance of happening and more of a 'movie' scenario, but still:How do you deal with the fact that there might be other CCW'ers in the area? What can you do to avoid blue on blue fire? When an emergency goes down and you are responding, it's commonly taught to direct someone to call 911 to avoid the "bystander effect". However, it's also commonly taught among the CCW community to call 911 yourself in a DGU so you can control what information is passed out (e.g. "I feared for my life so I drew my weapon"). What's the right call in a public area? (obviously calling 911 yourself makes it harder to respond to a new threat if it appears). If you do tell someone to call 911, what do you tell them to report? How do you avoid potentially incriminating yourself? via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2IlTaQB
