If someone breaks into my home, I can legally shoot them according to my state's castle laws. But that doesn't mean I won't get arrested until I can prove at trial that it was in defense, so I'd probably lose my job and have bail or other legal fees to pay. Since I'm the sole source of income for the family and we don't have enough savings for my wife and kids to live on without me working, am I better off having my wife or child shoot the attacker just in case?
