I got my firearm license mailed to me today. It has been only two weeks after applying, so the turnaround was great. I go to college in a high crime area (6 shootings within half a mile this month) so I bought the shield for home defense initially and decided that I wanted to start carrying.Frankly I'm still a bit terrified of my own gun. I know most people carry with one in the chamber but for now my lack of a saftey make me too nervous to do that. I will eventually transition once it becomes more normal.Anyways, I just wanted to share with the hopes that some of you older dude will share some advice and thoughts for me! via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2rt83b7
