(Serious) Just curious. For those of you who carry without a round in the chamber, why do you do so?

Just had a chat with a guy at a BBQ. Great guy. Knowledgeable and trained. He trained specifically for a firearm that's not hot. He told me he would rack it while the firearm is being pulled up into a low ready position.He said, "I just don't like the idea of a hot gun pointed right at my stuff, especially the glocks without an external safety" (he carried appendix).And here I was carrying with a G19 pointed right at the dick lol.A lot of people say if you're carrying without a chambered round, you shouldn't carry at all. I kind of disagree with this.I guess I'm asking since I'm curious and so many people here are advocates of carrying a hot gun.
