Just saw Yet Another Thread where we have some real cowboys saying they'd draw (at a minimum) under 'x' circumstances which don't even come close to meeting the criterion for doing so. ("Putting your hands on me." Really?)I just bought a book the other night which came highly recommended. The book is Law of Self Defense, 3rd Edition. After only the introduction and first two chapters, I can see the specifics and reasoning of why a lot of common wisdom regarding using a weapon in self-defence is what it is. It's designed to keep your ass out of legal trouble. I'm still reading. (It's not the kind of thing I can absorb in one sitting.)I highly suggest that everyone pick up a copy of this book and read it. You've spent hundreds on your gun(s), gear, and training. The extra $10-25 depending upon format won't kill you. On the contrary, it might keep you from ending up in jail for a few decades.http://ift.tt/2sywEyG is a lot of ignorance and bravado floating around about drawing and shooting. It's not something to be blasé about, folks ─ not if you value your freedom. I've actually lost track of how many items have been exemplified as killing your chances of a legal self-defence claim which I've read as intended courses of action in this sub.Again, I highly recommend the read. Or if you don't want to buy it, try your local library. Whatever. Just take the steps to educate yourself on the realities, for your own good. via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2twQLdL
