I'm a fool - Any possible damage I could have caused? Always test after cleaning.

Always test your carry gun after cleaning. I'm a fool and a testament to that. I cleaned my G43 a few weeks ago, taking apart the lower and upper assembly. I've done this before, and it's all been fine, but this time a made a stupid mistake. When putting back together the upper assembly, I inserted the extractor depressor plunger assembly in backwards. Essentially what this resulted in is you could see the spring that is normally facing the shooter reaching out to make contact with the extractor. As a result, the gun would not cycle and failed to extract every time (obviously). Two things:I feel like a fool because I have carried this gun like this for like two weeks now. Had I needed it, a single shot would have popped off and it'd be out of the fight immediately. Fuck I hate myself. After reversing the direction of the assembly the gun ran fine, with no failures to feed for the rest of the trip. Is there any damage I could have caused by firing the gun in this state? All seems well otherwise. via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2sLCGg1
