First off I have a glock 43 with a streamlight tlr6 on it. It contours nicely with the gun and you can't tell it's there. As far as holsters go I have a N82 IWB Holster and the Alien Gear OWB Paddle holster w/ the cloak dock mod. I'm an avid fan of N82 cause of how comfortable they are and the father in law got my the alien gear set up so I can mount it inside my vehicle. My issue here is transitioning from IWB to Vehicle. It's not so bad in the winter cause I can conceal my OWB carry by my hoodie or winter coats. Now that it's getting nice out I'm going back to IWB. The N82 holster collapses so you have to remove it every time you want to holster it again. Obviously removing a weapon multiple times a day greatly increases accidental discharges. Major pro about the Alien Gear was that it never left the holster. So I guess my question here is what are some opinions? Options? I have to mention that I also have a M&P 40c with the N82 professional holster which is their top of the line holster. One option I was thinking was just keeping that on me and keeping my other gun mounted in the vehicle. Overkill? Thanks in advance! via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2qneZ9B

Im think about carrying a CZ P07. Tell me why or why i shouldn't carry it.
Hey there guys, I currently carry a Glock 43 and while it's nice and small the kick on the little guy is just a little much. A bit to snappy and kinda hard to control in rapid fire. I was thinking of trading it in for a CZ P07. The P07 looks like a great gun. I rented one at a LGS with an indoor range and it felt pretty awesome in my hands. I felt like I could control it alot more and I kind of like the extra weight to it. I was just wondering for those who own a P07 what are your thoughts are on carry a P07 or not to carry a P07. via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2oYRUcm

Kydex bellyband for gym shorts?
I want to be able to wear gym shorts and carry securely. I've never tried out a regular belly band, I don't like how they don't look very secure.Just got a 43 as my first carry. I do plan on getting a iwb kydex for normal clothing wear. I thought having a similar holster for gym shorts carry might be a smarter idea.Have I got any options for kydex and gym shorts? via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2qiuG4B
Need help on a new holster for my Walther pps
As the title states, I'm in the market for a new holster. I'm looking for something very concealable either IWB or OWB if the pistol is held high enough. I am trying to carry in the 3:30 to 4 O'Clock position to keep my manhood from being blasted off in a high stress situation. If it helps, I'm not exactly the thinnest dude in the world. Any and all recommendations are welcome. via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2qmbJvc
MD Conceal Carry permit, has anyone here received one?
I live in the Deep Blue state (thanks Baltimore) of Maryland where it's nearly impossible to get a CC permit. Even though we have a Republican Governor, he refuses to address the law or even bring up the issue to the state Senate. The entire process is a money laundering scheme for the state, where they have you submit an application and pay your $75, only to deny the permit and they keep the non-refundable application fee. That is pretty much the only thing keeping me from applying for my permit. I refuse to pay the money so the state can keep it and not issue me a permit. I have a clean background, speeding tickets (3 in my lifetime) are the only legal run-ins I have had. I'd be a shoo-in in any Red/Gun friendly state if I applied. With that being said, I was just curious if any of you guys have actually applied and were given a CC permit, w/o being an armed guard, business owner.. etc. Thanks! via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2oM4pM7

Ulticlip Gun Sag Jeans
I carry a SD9VE which isn't that heavy (about 1 1/2 pounds loaded) but upon getting my new single clip kydex holster with a ulticlip it starts to droop a tad (enough to pop under the belt) when wearing wrangler jeans. I needed a more discrete option as most clips are painfully obvious and my company doesn't allow cc (and not carrying isn't an option).I was curious if anyone had this issue and found a solution for it? I had a thought about sewing a 1/8 thick piece of leather about 1/2 the width of my belt and 2" long (so when belt is loose I can close the clip) on the backside so I could gain the support of my belt, if I did this on the lower section it would make it just about fully blended. Was just curious if there was a better way or if my way has been tried and proven good or not? Thank you. via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2qs3qgB

If you're gonna carry the gun, at least carry the damn bullets
Longtime shooter, but new to CCW. Had an experience (thankfully uneventful) today that hopefully you all can learn from.Earlier this afternoon I popped over to a buddy of mine's house to get some work done on my car. He's been trying to get into shooting, and I've been shooting pistols since I was a kid so I decided to bring my CZ to teach him a bit about it.I'm not used to carrying because I've only recently gotten my CCW permit. Because I was going to be rolling around under a car, I opted to keep the firearm in an OWB holster clipped to some MOLLE webbing inside my tool bag. My buddy still hasn't been able to make it to the range, and has told me he's a little nervous about handguns so I just threw in an empty mag with a snap cap. No actual bullets - I didn't want to stress him out because his kid was around. I assumed it would be 'straight there, straight back'. Dumb mistake. Our repairs went well and I was driving back home when I was merging onto the highway, and spotted a broken-down motorist. Riding high on the 'we can fix it' attitude and conveniently placed to stop to help out, I did. Turns out it was two really big sketchy-looking dudes. I'm average-sized, wearing a computer science t-shirt from the local college, and drive a lightweight hybrid car. If something were to happen, it wasn't a situation I felt like I'd be able to win. Red flag. They had a blowout on their left driver-side tire and the jack stored in their truck wasn't tall enough to lift the frame up to remove the tire. I said something to the effect of, "Man that's really shitty that the jack that came with your truck doesn't even work for it." And they said "Yeah, nah. It's not our truck. Borrowed." It was hard to understand what he was saying, and when I did it seemed really unusual. Red flag.I loaned them my tiny-ass jack and they actually got it lifted enough to remove the busted tire. I'm hanging back in my car, took a picture of them, their plates, and sent all that (with my location) in a text to my girlfriend. Just trying to keep some distance. These guys didn't know how to use a jack or change a tire very effectively. Guy #1 calls over to me to ask about how to get the tire off. As I'm going over to look at the left-rear tire, Guy #2 is walking to the cab out-of-sight on the passengers side. Red flag.I get sketched out and say "Nah man, sorry I don't know" (in reality he just had to kick it off, something my buddy taught me half an hour prior). I didn't want to get distracted by getting involved with the repair. Guy #2 could have easily gotten around to my right side, and with Guy #1 to my left, the only open route I would have had was into traffic. Red flag.As I'm making the way back to my vehicle, I realize I left the keys in the cupholder. The car has a proximity sensor and push-button start. Even if nobody clubbed me over the head they could have just run over to my car, turned it on, and drove off. With my unloaded handgun. Dumb mistake.Eventually they got the tire off and the repair continued. I grabbed my keys and started hanging around the back right quarter panel of my car, in case somebody not paying attention decided to just plow into our shit. In that moment I feel like I got a good glimpse into life as a highway cop: trying to balance helping people out, keeping a healthy paranoia about people you don't know, and keeping an eye out to avoid getting run over. Actually insightful. They successfully finished their repairs without incident, I got my jack back, and nobody got hurt. I'm glad I helped, but I'm berating myself for not handling myself better.Lessons learned:If you have a gun with you, at least carry the damn bullets.Being able to carry on-body is important. Try and do it whenever you can. I couldn't easily work on a car and carry a gun the size of a Glock 19. I have an IWB holster but didn't bring it. I should have brought a loaded firearm in the IWB holster, took it off to work on the car, and then put it back on.Have a little reflective triangle in your car. I have a good roadside kit I put together but apparently neglected the triangle in favor of flares. Flares aren't as useful in daylight. If you don't have a roadside kit in your vehicle, put one together. You'll need it more often than a gun. If you do have one, go organize it, because I'm sure you've pilfered tools from there and neglected to put them back where they should be :)If you pull over to help out a stranded motorist, take pictures and let a loved one know where you are. Text every 10 minutes.Be alert. Have some healthy paranoia but let it stop you from helping someone(s) in need.Take it easy.(Scenario) because I don't know how to flair via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2oX5Sve

MN rules regarding the carrying of long guns in a vehicle.
Not looking for legal advice here. Has anyone had experience with the carrying of a long gun in a vehicle in MN? Section 624.7181 (specifically C3) seem to make it clear that carrying a long gun on or about your person is legal with a valid permit, carrying a pistol in a vehicle is legal as well. HOWEVER section 97B.045 says the only legal way to transport a long gun is unloaded and cased and makes no mention of permit holders. If you have had any experience in this area I would like to hear about it. Also I understand this may not be the correct sub but I think this is applicable.Links to MN statutes http://ift.tt/2oK0jo5 http://ift.tt/2oWvtUV via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2oK5xzX

How do I respond to direct questions from family/friends about concealed carry?
I live in a very pro gun state where it is common to have a concealed carry license and own a plethora of firearms. That being said the topic of concealed carry comes up quite a bit in a conversation.I have been directly asked by friends and family, very casually, if I have a concealed carry license.I have the mentality to never reveal that I have a license unless absolutely necessary. What are the ways you handle this without being rude or extremely vague.I just have been saying "No, but I plan on getting one in the future."Any ideas of a better answer? via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2oVLQBu
Friendly reminder to check your ammo when you clean your weapon
Decided to spend part of my Saturday morning cleaning my carry piece since it's been a while and I wanted to keep the lint collection in check. As I was breaking things down I noticed this. It wasn't the one in the pipe but it was at the top of the stack and would have been the next one up if I needed to rock and roll. Simply put, keep an eye out for any setbacks, strange marks, ect. on your carry ammo. I don't think this would have caused too much of an issue, but I would rather have not found out. via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2pgGfbm

Stood my ground. Charged with A Felony
I'll try keep this story short and only include the important details.. but alot of the smaller parts are very important ... This happened a few years ago. YES I agree I should have handled it differently. But it DID happen..And my criminal charge has been pending in court of grand jury since...I was driving on my way to work. One lane country road and I was behind one gold Monte Carlo. I was behind the guy for only a few seconds before I could see him throwing his hands in what looked like he was arguing with his passenger. She also seemed to be throwing hands n the air. As if they were going back in forth with each other. he also swerved a bit here n there... I paid it no mind at first... After being behind him for a bit... He started to break check me.. (slamming on his breaks in the middle of the road way..) and then goin slow for a moment.. then he would speed up and slam on his breaks again . .. All the while I could see what I assume was him cursing me n his rearview mirror... . Still I jus tried to keep my distance. As much as I possibly could while being forced to follow him at five or ten miles an hour in a 35-45 mph zone... This went on for a while until we finally got to a main two lane road.. which we both make a right turn and continue on. I attempt to go around him n the right lane after we both have pulled onto the two lane highway.. after I switch lanes and start around he jumps back over Infront of me... nearly making me rear end him..I try this again back in the left lane and he acts as if he is goin to side swipe me with his car.. jerking the wheel and comin into my lane slightly... we go down the road a bit neck and neck.. with him keeping my pace beside me.. so I couldn't pass him. All the while doing this I could see him giving me the bird and still cursing and such...Eventually we ended beside each other. . At a redlight.... He already had his window down at this point to curse me before so I could see him making the gestures from earlier during our little race... Anyways I'm at the redlight n he's n the lane to the right of me ..Still.. he hangs out his window. Cursing me.. telling me to pull over.. yelling whatever threats at the top of his lungs... So I rolled my window down.. picked up the pistol I had laying n the seat next to me... Still in a holster.. also. And quickly held it n the air... Not aimed at him. Just to let it be known I was armed.. and I didn't wish to pull over and engage... As soon as I had time to do this and drop the gun... the light went green I made a left that I didn't need to make to get further from the situation... Apparently he called the police on me after we went separate ways at the light. Because I arrived at work and pulled into the parking lot. Which immediately was surrounded by multiple police with guns drawn screaming for me to get out of my car and lay face down. Spent a few hours n jail. Before bonding out.Admittedly..Not the best way to handle the situation. Trust that I wish I could take it back... But who knows if it would have escalated or what would have happened if I hadn't? Though in the heat of the moment .. after trying my best to escape it altogether first ... From being threatened both with his vehicle and verbally I did what I could to dissolve the moment.. Went to court three times and he was a no show until the third trial Where he testified against me and nearly cried saying I scared him to death..(which honestly was my intention). He forgot to include any of the story up until that part... Have been awaiting a summons or indictment on it since that last court date.. was supposed to get word of that the following January. Which was about four years ago. Lost my carry permit . Of course. And two handguns I had in my vehicle. . . Spoke to a lawyer this year who is pushing for dismissal the charge of aggravated assault.. or lowering the charge to brandishing a firearm.. Does anyone else think this was considered self defense? Again .... If I could take back that few seconds of my hand being on that gun .I would. Because it probably ruined my life. via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2qpjpw0
Ethical question, in a situation of grave danger not directed at you would you put yourself in danger to draw your weapon and save strangers or flee for safety?
This is a completely hypothetical situation. I feel very comfortable carrying but I have a hard time deciding what I would do in certain situations.Of course you only really know what you'll do when something like that happens, but let me ask you this just to see if I'm on the right side of the fence.Let's say you're going to a mall through a department store entrance and just as you're about to go in you can see maybe 60 feet away from you a guy with a semi automatic pistol or rifle mowing people down. You can run away back to your car or other safe spot, or go in and neutralize him if you can but obviously at your own peril. What do you do?I know what I think about the situation but I want to know what you think. We all understand this is completely hypothetical and has many answers and variables, but I'm interested in your thought processes mostly. via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2qptb0V
Urban Carry G2 Review [Cadet, LCP] (My first holster)
So I just received my first holster in the mail, an Urban Carry G2, in Cadet size for my LCP. I know it's not highly thought of around these parts, but they were quick to arrive (which I need) and offer what appears to be deep concealment. Overall, I'm satisfied with the holster as it probably as inconspicuous as possible while still being quite comfortable. However, it's definitely not the greatest thing since sliced bread. So, I'm a fat guy and wear my pants below my gut. I tried a $10 amazon holster just to get a feel for how big of a bulge I was going to get in different carry positions. There just didn't seem any feasible way to have a IWB not dig under my belly and make a weird bulge, at least not from 1:00 to 3:00. It probably wouldn't be a huge issues as long as it's not uncomfortable, although I did want something a little more discrete if my shirt rode up. I'm a little too young to wear a belt-clip cell phone holster, but the look of the Urban Carry if my shirt rode up while getting in/out of a truck wouldn't be so conspicuous.I've seen the video of the guy who drops his piece from a draw, but thought that the magnet would help keep it in. With every single-handed pull (right or left), I was unable to get it to pop out. I even yanked on it with both hands as hard as I could, to the point where it flipped my belt around backwards, and the LCP stayed in the holster. However, as soon as I put the camera on to record a video and did a double-hand tug it came free. So, it's not as secure as a traditional holster, but it is pretty snug. You'd really have to yank on that thing to get it to pop out, so I'm not really worried. If it was the smallest suggested gun for that size holster, or even a larger sized gun with more mass (and therefore inertia) might not have the same 'stick'.Speaking of the magnet, It isn't terribly strong but isn't weak either. I can pick up a LCP using just the magnet, but it's not like it's super-stuck. I also keep a leatherman style in my pocket and was concerned that it would stick. I didn't have any problems with that or picking up paperclips or loose staples or anything. As far as comfort goes, it's quite comfortable. Even in tight jeans it wasn't a big deal, although sitting down can be a little awkward when the legs are a bit slimmer. It holds the entirety of the gun under the hip-bend area, so as long as there is room in the leg it doesn't seem to be much of an issue. In the summer, it might be hot depending on the type of drawers you wear. I wear poly/spandex boxer-briefs, so nothing will bunch and it'll keep the leather off my leg. I didn't have to loosen my belt and had no problem drawing with my belt at it's regular notch.I was really worried about it being conspicuous even with tight pants. It felt like I had this huge lump under my jeans and figured it would be easily obvious that I had something in my pants. Adding some light stuff in my pockets (my edc: leatherman, headphones 'pod', flashlight and knife clipped on pocket) seemed to help distract from it. Either way, it's not something that I'd be worried about anyone picking up easily. It kind of looks like I have a cellphone in my pocket, although that may look a little strange if I'm on my phone too.Tight Pants - Empty Pockets Front Side Tight Pants - Carry Front SideLoose Pants - Empty Pockets Front Side Loose Pants - Carry Front SideSo, I carried all day and not even my wife noticed that I was packing. Not bad.So now for the bad part. The ergonomics of the carry is mediocre and the ergonomics of the draw is pretty terrible. There are 3 major issues. First, the gun sits too high when holstered. Second, it's tight to grab out of the holster. Third, it's super high to draw from, especially if the holster is worn on the waist. So, I expected it to sit when carried similar to a pocket carry, with the end of the barrel down towards the bottom of the pocket. Well, the grip sits above the pocket line by a bit and I really wish it was lower. In the below pics, I've highlighted the pocket in green and the gun in red. It's nice that there is plenty of room in my pocket under the holster, but getting in/out of the pocket is tight. I think it would be helpful if it sat a few inches lower.Front SideNow, the LCP doesn't have much to grab on to. I get that. But I can't get around the grip at all when starting to pull it free. I'm pretty much grabbing it with the finger from the first knuckle down only, then I have to maneuver it around as it's half out or fully out to get a grip. It's really awkward, and definitely a risk of getting disarmed if drawing in close quarters. In defense of a physical attack, this could be a huge issue.GripWhen in the draw position, the gun is REALLY high up. It's not too bad when wearing the waist band low, but wearing my belt closer to my belly button makes it really awkwardly high. The top of the grip is pretty much at nipple height with my belt hiked up. Even with the belt low, it's a very bent-arm elbow-up draw. Now, I'm pretty short, but holy cow. This is probably the perfect height for a shoulder-holster draw. So, overall I think it'll meet my needs. If you need something to be super concealed for deep cover, yeah, this is probably a good choice. I need to be semi-active, climbing around in an office environment, and still raise no suspicion. It would be better if it carried lower, but I think it'll get the job done. If you're expecting a close-quarters, physically aggressive, or other confrontation where you don't expect to have much of an element of surprise, keep looking. This is the kind of holster I'd want for a martini soiree, not for a biker bar. I'm not disappointed, but I'm not impressed either. via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2pIeWYQ

Opinions on deep concealment pocket carry gun options.
I usually carry a G19 IWB although I hide it well my new job has me climbing under desks, reaching over stuff, and general awkward positions that could easily reveal my G19. So I grabbed my wife's LCP and have been pocket carrying with great success. So my question for you fellow CCW'ERS.What's the best pocket carry gun?The LCP although insanely small is too small for my actual hand. I get my middle finger and half my ring finger around the grip even with the pinky ramp on the mag's baseplate. And I end up shooting it like shit.I'm heavily considering a SW 642/442. I like this idea simply because I know my accuracy would be better and although it's only 5 shots it's unlikely I'll have multiple targets and .38 spl +P is a really stout cartridge.I'd like to get some opinions on other options strictly for pocket carry. I'd strongly prefer 9mm or .38 spl but don't have an issue with .380 auto.Budget $500 including a remora pocket holster.I sadly don't have many people to discuss this with that have any real experience with deep concealment carry.Edit: forgot to mention I primarily wear cargo shorts. Other wise jeans/firehose pants. via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2oHtpo0

Leather IWB holster recommendations
I have a Ruger American Compact Pro that I wanted to use as a carry gun, replacing my CZ P-07. Loved Alien Gear and their products, but as I learned the hard way, they don't make a holster yet for the RAC Pro. They make them for the RAC, but the dimensions are ever so slightly different and simply put, the gun doesn't fit. Totally not Alien Gear's fault, but as it turns out, the RAC Pro is pretty new on the market and there aren't a lot of kydex options available. I'm considering getting a leather RAC holster since it should give me some leeway and will allow the gun to "break-in" the extra space. Anyone have any recommendations? I have an OWB Savoy holster on order but I'm not in the mood to order an IWB from them and get one 3 months from now. Cheers. via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2qfgeuo
Lefty looking for advice
So here's my situation. I'm left handed, and looking for a good ccw gun. I currently carry a fullsize M&P 9 but the grip is just too big to conceal easily in a t-shirt. When standing upright it's really no big deal but if I'm sitting or have to bend or crouch down the grip juts out pretty bad. It's got slide stops on both sides and the magazine release is reversible, as you all probably already know. That's why I bought it. I've decided I want to get a shield but it's strictly a righty gun. Mag release isn't even reversible. So that being said, do I just do it or look elsewhere ? What would you guys do? Other option that I've been looking at is the 9c. It's grip is pretty much the same as the shield but it's the same width of the fullsize. Which I guess doesn't really bother me so I think I just answered my own question. Any opinions are much appreciated. Thanks in advance! via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2oFPmDV

Reddit was down last night so i just wrote it as i text document so i could post it this morning. this was written literally 30seconds after it happened."this literally just happened then i walked home and started typing this, my hearts is still racing from this. its a little before midnight and I’m taking my dog for its last walk of the day, like out of no where a big ass german shepherd is sprinting full speed towards me and my dog, My dog is a 4 pound yorkie so if this dog gets one bite that could easily kill my dog, i love my dog like a brother, he could have easily bit the fuck out of me too, i was trying to get her dog off of us while pushing away the dog with my foot, be he was so strong he just kept on coming. at this point i draw my gun and point it at him but i kept my finer on the trigger, i didn’t WANT to shoot the dog but every second that past felt like minutes, i was screaming get your dog, I’m going to shoot your dog grab him! , while this is happening i see a girly freaking out just as hard trying to grab her dog and screaming a mix of IM SORRY and STOP!!! but she couldn’t hold her back at all, i remember thinking “thats it, i HAVE to shoot him” i felt like my options were shoot her dog or watch my dog get killed, but like a split second after that she manages to grab him a bit, i let go of my dogs leash, holster my gun and helped her hold her dog back, once she held him i went and tied my dog to a post, initially i was so mad, my blood was boiling, someones dog almsot killed my dog, i almost killed a dog, i was so mad, but then reality set in a bit and i realized i had just pulled a gun in public, i went and made sure she was ok, she was apologizing so much and almost in tears, i told her its ok and I’m sorry i pulled a gun on your dog, we talked for a bit and i helped take her dog to her apartment, then i came back here, it all happened so fast, yet happened so slow. Im so happy that i didn’t kill her dog, i would have dreamt about it forever, but i feel awful at the same time, did i over react? what if i wasn’t justified, things like that, the girl was so shook, i feel i did the right thing, that was crazy"that was last night so my hands were still shaking a bit as i typed. It all happened so fast, i carry with a round chambered. There was no way i would have had time to rack the slide, especially with my other hand occupied holding my own dog trying to get him out of the way of the other dog. Im very happy with how i physically handled it. i didnt shoot, not because i couldnt do it but because i wanted to give the other dog every possible second to stop or get pulled away. I knew i didnt want to accidentally shoot while all this was happening so i kept my finger off the trigger the whole time, purposely. My draw was immediate, and i reholstered as soon as it was over. Im glad with the way everything turn out given the situation, part of me wonders if i over reacted a bit, but in the moment i was genuinely worried my dog was about to get attacked and killed, as far as i know in texas i would have been justified to shoot since the dog did not have a leash, and was running full speed at me and did not respond when i kick/pushed him away. After would love to get an outside perspective on what happened. After i wrote this i realized i had the broken leash from the other dog, i went to go give it back and make sure she was ok since she seemed really shocked and almost in tears, her ans her boy friend came to the door. They both apologized, asked if my dog was ok, and he said he would have done the same, we talked for a min or 2 then i went back home, i didnt feel a need to call the police since everyone involved was ok (mentally and physically)would love to get the sub reddits feed back, first time this has ever happened. did i do anything wrong? what could/should i of done differently? via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2ptOvoQ
Springfield XDe finally unveiled--thoughts?
So we can see the public unveiling of the XDe, the first real subcompact single stack DA/SA...and it's incredibly underwhelming. That bore axis is just ridiculous, and a safety on a DA/SA carry gun just feels unnecessary, IMO. You can just see from the promo video here how big that recoil impulse is. The only positive I can really think of is they finally hit a fairly sweet spot on width for a hammer gun.At the very least, we now have something to point to when someone asks for a single stack DA/SA subcompact, but that doesn't really make it less http://ift.tt/2ppwwOh, please take note that there is a market for subcompact single stacks with hammers. via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2pGhqa3

Next carry purchase?
Alright everyone, I'm looking at getting a "pocket carry" or micro carry I guess. Idk just a very small pistol and feel like I have it narrowed down to the Kimber micro in 9mm or the Sig P938. Any thought? Pros and or cons to either? And no I'm not concerned with the price or size, I really like the 1911 style of both but haven't made up my mind. Thanks ahead of time. via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2oEfKhw
Anyone carry a Sig P229?
Been contemplating getting one for CC, but I'm sure if it's the right gun for me to carry or not. Probably would carry it around 8:30 (Left handed), IWB. Anyone have experience carrying one? I was also recommended the Glock 19 but to be honest I think that Glocks are extremely ugly and I prefer DA/SA as that's what I have a lot of training on.Here's my problem: I can buy a P229 and if I don't like it I could probably sell it for close to what I paid for it, I'm not too confident that the 19 would hold its resell value very well though. But I would rather buy one for CC and be done with it. via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2qe7DVT

Would you get a permit in a constitutional carry state?
Just curious to hear different perspectives on this. I live in a constitutional carry state. However, there are advantages to getting a permit. One is that it changes your requirements in a LEO interaction from immediate disclosure to optional. Allows carry in certain state controlled areas. And, probably most interesting to me, establishes reciprocity with neighboring states where I do travel. However, I also live in a small town and it's pretty likely that a meet and greet with the chief to request the permit will be noticed by others. Then there's just the whole, why be more documented/photographed/etc. than really necessary. What do others think? Anyone in a similar situation that made the call one way or the other? What factors drove your decision? via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2qdCPaA
Exposing myself
Hey folks, I'm in that early stage of wearing around the house unchambered to get the feel of things. It's a Sig P320 Compact in a StealthGear Revolution. I'm waiting on my Hank's Gunner Belt, so right now just an old, leather belt.I've tried a couple different combos of shirt, shirt+fleece jacket, couple other things. Anytime I do something low like loading/unloading dishwasher, picking something up off the floor, my shirt rides up and hangs on the grip.Normal? Do I just need to get int he habit of monitoring this when out in public? Caused by old, saggy belt? Need to start wearing shirts down to my knees?I'm probably going to try a subcompact setup which will reduce the grip length, but I doubt that will resolve the problem completely. Any other suggestions to try? via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2pnO8dA

Well, that explains the whole USCCA invitation thing...
NRA's got skin in the self-defense insurance game now.Looks like it's priced about the same as USCCA. Haven't sat down to compare the two systems, but it's probably almost the same deal.It was inevitable. via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2oR88UD
