If you don't have a carry belt, get one

For a while I've been apprehensive of getting an actual carry belt because I thought the stiffness would be uncomfortable. Make no mistake, they are stiff and it can make threading them a bit more difficult at times. However, wearing around is the opposite of what you'd think.Being stiffer allows me to wear the belt looser without printing, which in turn makes it more comfortable. My last belt ($15 generic) I'd have to crank down to stop the grip from canting out and printing. With the carry belt, the rigidity of the material itself resists twisting and will aid in this regard. Hence why I don't need to wear it as tight. Same gig with the mag holster too.By the same token, drawing is much easier too as the belt will stop the holster from being pulled up. My particular holster is an IWB with adjustable retention. I keep it pretty tight as I wear mine while physically active. That's the jist of it. Don't be scared of the stiffness issue, it helps comfort not the opposite. Carry belts are pricier, but IMO money worth spent.Fwiw I opted for a nylon belt with a stiffener (not sure what they use for material) but this will apply to any good belt. via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/22lojWq
