Frequently in the online firearm community we get asked by guys about a good gun for the missus. At first people will suggest a 380 because it's a smaller bullet but they tend to forget they have a good grip on the gun to eat up a lot of the recoil 380s actually produce because it's often shot out of small guns like the Ruger LCP. Then people will suggest a big gun like a government model 1911 or a Deagle because the gun itself will eat up a lot of the recoil but we have to remember the missus may not like holding a giant gun, or able to conceal it.Using this magnificent tool I rediscovered the Walther PK380. Usually when I think of 380 and Walther I think 007. So a lot of people recommend the Ruger LC380. The PK380 is larger enough than the LC380 to allow the missus to get a better grip on the gun; also the PK has a manual safety which can also double as a jank-decocker (it's kind of like the Beretta M9). Watching some reviews of the PK I think this gun has a niche in CCW, a niche the CCP tried to replace the PK for but that gun has a horrid takedown mechanic that is unfriendly (and not just for the inexperienced). As a note, the PK380 has an easy takedown except the recoil spring is not captive.I hope the next time someone asks about a recommendation for their better half you remember the PK380 because I doubt anyone else will. via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/1qvkgv6
