Texas CHL renewal letter?

So, I received a letter from Texas DPS about my CHL expiring/needing renewal early 2022.I thought constitutional carry, which takes effect Sept 1st here, negated the need for a license to carry, either open or concealed.Am I mistaken OR did I just get a generic letter sent out by some automated state government system that hasn't been updated yet to compensate for constitutional carry?Are there any other advantages to renewing, other than faster background checks on firearm purchases/transfers and continued reciprocity with states that don't yet have constitutional carry? via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3BlYBdR
